Speaking Part 1: Updated Topics

When it comes to preparing for Part 1, you should be ready to talk about familiar and unfamiliar topics. There will be some simpler topics where you might be asked to describe a person, or talk about your hobbies, but you may be asked questions on some rather strange topics. For example, trees or flowers or looking at the sky! These have all been real exam questions!
What should I revise then?
The topics tends to change every 6 months or so. However, there are some that often appear. Have a look at the list of part 1 topics below. Candidates were asked questions on these topics recently! Do you feel confident enough to talk about them?
- Borrowing things
- Different stages in life
- Keeping things tidy
- Discussing things with friends
- Fish and fishing
- Reading newspapers and magazines
- Jokes and Comedy
- Buying things
- Staying up late
- Gifts and presents
- Public transport
- Meeting new people
- Famous people
